Lovely feather detail and a really nice background. He/she is really eyeing you up.

Got a call from a farmer today with a trailer puncture. Major my Little Owls are showing quite well. Off I went and whislt doing the job I looked across and there sat one on an actual straw bale. Rushed home tonight half knackered, threw the gear in the car and back I went.
There was one on a bale so I drew into the field. It didn't remain long and only managed a few shots. Decided not to sta and wait as I knew Mr Owl would be watching me. Went up the road and after about 20 mins. On my return he was back and with my netting up had another go. It didn't move a muscle.
It will of course cost me a picture but I am more than pleased to have had the chance to do it.
If the weather holds I will be returning tomorrow evening.
Nice picture with a very knowing look on its face.
Bob.

Many thanks all for your comments.
Chris the image was not full frame as I cropped to the verticle as some of the black shiny polythene reflected. Many I got were and tonight was no exception. Even managed some with the 300mm so pretty close.
During the day tractor activity abounds so they are used to vehicles to a certain degree. I moved three times in the vehicle and the Owl did not appear to be bothered.

Certainly different from the usual LO shot, BG and perch work well and the eye's are very nice, lovely shot Major.
Andy...
Experiences like that is what keeps us all interested. The eyes make the image IMO.
Thanks for sharing

All been said - another near perfect shot, well done. Was it full-frame?
Cheers,
Chris
