Taken a few months ago while out looking for Voles. I got about a dozen shots of these birds but this one is my favourite.
any comments or advice welcome.

Nice shot Shifty, what are the strange lines across the bottom of the image ? are they plant stems under the water ? feather detail is very good.
We'll go back later in the year buddy.

Yes they are plant stems, I quite like them in this image.
Definately go back there, Good bacon butties in the cafe

I like everything about this image, even though it's not a fly. Excellent detail, and I like the glimpse of the leaf stems giving depth to the water.

Nice image and love the reflection, great detail and colours in the bird, very nice Lee and I second the bacon butties there,at the moment the water is covered in a green carpet so hard to take anything there
Very nice shot Lee the feather detail is very good
I would get rid of the white bit at the top as it takes attention away from the bird.

Hi Lee,
A nice image and a good reflection. Overall it looks a little bright on my screen, lacking in blacks possibly. I would definitely remove the bright area top right.
Thanks for sharing.

Nice shot and the nits mentioned.. In the words of our very own 'JR' I would adjust the Gamma correction via the 'exposure' setting in PS to tone this down a bit.. I tried to about 0.85, but monitors vary so might tweak accordingly..
Kind regards,
Brett

The bird sits nicely Lee and there is some great lighting here.

Hello Lee.
A lovely image of this Little Grebe with excellent detail.
I would agree with all the comments. I have had a little got at making some small adjustments which I feel really helps the image.
A small crop to the top and right hand side to remove some distracting areas.
A small adjustment in curves to give the image a bit more contrast.
The curves adjustment gave a better feel to the bird and darker water, but made the green water area a little to bright so I burned this down with the burn tool set to highlight and at 10%.
I will remove comment if you wish just le me know.

I'd crop a bit off of the top to lose the white thing.
