Do you subscribe to the magazine? if yes, as "field contributor"?

I am wondering how good the magazine is and is it worth to join? Any comment/ experience will be helpful

Arnab,

Long time no talk!

I subscribe and have even had an article published on Harriman State Park about two years ago. It is a good magazine with wall-to-wall photography in it, much of it quite good. It is not as technical as most publications, but the photos are usually printed with the tech data for people like us who like to study the specs.

My wife started me on it and I maintain the contributor level subscription, but that is only needed if you want to publish. It is worth a subscription for the photogaphy alone if that is all you want it for.

I've been a subscriber for about three years. Jim right, the articles are not the most in depth, but the photography is very good. I've gotten good ideas of places to visit and shoot from articles in OP. It's worth the low subscription cost.

Nature Photographer Magazine has a couple of good writers. I guess some people join it as a field contributor so they can get published and place it on their profile. John and Barb Gerlach write a great column which has a lot of technical information. I read the magazine when it comes at the coffee shop but wouldn't subscribe just to be a field contributor.

I joined last year but havn;t sent anything worth publishing since I didn't yet have my mac daddy lens. I like the magazine and have even spoken to the couple that runs it. They seemed nice and helpful. but yes $ 80.00 for 4 editions IS ALOT.

Arnab,

I missed that email, but I was having computer issues a while back. I replaced the old soldier with a monster desktop which is much more capable for photo processing. Send me a note when you will be in the neighborhood.
