A visit to the Grange
And no, Todd, it's not La Grange, so don't get excited. I went to shoot sunrise at a Grange building south of me on Hwy 83. I knew there was a field behind it with wild sunflowers that has, in the past, been the largest patch I have ever seen. The sunrise wasn't spectacular, but it was a quiet and peaceful one. I didn't have time this morning to go very far because of house arrest.(Honey-doos) The light was nice and there were quite a few sunflowers, but the grasses caught my attention again. I'll post flower shots later.

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

I love the building in #1. Maybe open up the shadows a bit more. The place itself looks like it has much potential. #3 is my favorite.

Another vote for #3.
Looks like virgin prairie out there, which we don't see enough of here.
Glad you were able to capture it so very well here!

All are beautiful shots. The Grange image is wonderfully subtle in lighting detail.
I wonder how many know what the Grange was and is?
I always enjoy seeing your work and thoughtful comments.

Thanks for the comments, guys.
John, not much of that virgin prarie left here. There are houses very near on both sides, and some can be seen on the right side at the horizon. One just has to be really selective with a comp. Verticals are almost a must.
David, thank you, and I am curious to know how many know what the Grange actually is.
Paul, there is still some noise in the shadows, so without Noise Ninja, which I don't have, I don't know how much I can open up those shadows unfortunately. And I do need to spend more time to explore more opportunities with the structure. It has quite a bit of character. Bats were flying over me the whole time, too, which was cool, but even at 1600 iso I couldn't get a fast enough shutter speed to catch those little buggers.

I also like the No. 3. Very pretty, Morris.

Very nice Morris, I've been by there many times and never really thought of photographing it. Considering how many buildings there are in that area you did a great job isolating the subject.
