Impromptu

I haven't been out with the camera much this summer. For whatever reason, I decided that more than anything I just needed a hike this weekend and headed to TDH Mountain. Im not really a big believer in luck (most of the time I scout and prep for locations) however sometimes all the planning in the world can lead to a mediocre outing while a last minute decision can yield great results.

5DmkII -- 15" @ F13 ISO 100. 3-stop hard GND. Single Exposure

Nice stuff! I really like the FG and how the colors mimic those in the sky. My only suggestion would be to lighten the top part of the sky just a bit.

Really a nice shot....I might be tempted to crop up a little from the bottom to get rid of the two black holes down there....the mountain and sky are just awesome!!!

Very nice image with the clouds looking good. I agree with Darren's crop suggestions. I tseems a little "bottom heavy".

Imho, sure don't need much off the bottom. Mark W's suggestion about the sky sounds good. I also like it just fine as posted and would be delighted to have captured it myself. I think it's a terrific shot, almost made better by the serendipity, as you suggested. What a wonderful evening to be out.
