First Light on Red Peak ~ Eagles Nest Wilderness
I had to cancel my backpacking trip to Willow Lakes earlier this month. But this location had been on my "must do" list for a loooong time and I just couldn't bear to let it slip away again this summer. So I woke at 1:15am yesterday and headed for the hills. It was about a 5.5 mile hike to these little tarns with a nice view of Red Peak.
Comments and critiques welcome, as always.

A nearly perfect composition with gorgeous colors!
A very peaceful setting well captured, and certainly well worth the time and effort you spent getting here.
I'm only left wondering whether the light on the peaks got even better as time passed.

Love the touch of glow you captured on the peaks and I'm always a sucker for reflection shots like this. Definitely was worth losing a little sleep for!

Not really. This ridge runs pretty much East-West. So by the time the sun got high enough to light more of the face, its pretty harsh. Actually, the trees on the other side of the tarn catch the light first. And I do have a shot about 15 minutes after this one that I need to give a little processing time.
