Aspen Reflection
I photograhed this reflection in the autumn about six years
ago. The location is Grant Lake along the June Lake Loop
in the Eastern Sierra. I did a little saturation and sharpening.
As always your reactions are welcome.

Robert,

This is a GREAT autumn reflection. It's making me drool of this coming autumn.

The aspen trunks are striking and the little bit of ripples are giving this a nice abstract look. As an alternative, you might consider taking the abstract even further by cropping the darker green bottom, just leaving orange and the wonderful trunk lines. In the process, I would also crop from the left just enough to remove the lone, darker and taller trunk on the left - but that's minor.

Regardless though, this is a great autumn image without changing anything. It's getting me pumped for fall.

I'll echo Lon word for word, including the getting pumped for fall! Wonderful abstract.

really impressive Robert. I might also consider cropping the green portion out as well.

Me, three (or is it 4?). This is very cool. Its one of the nicer fall color abstracts I've seen, Robert.

Good job!

It's very Monet. Thanks for the inspiration!

Nice... it reminds me of an EKG or earthquake graph. I too like the crop suggestions as well, but this is also very nice as is. Well seen and captured!

Great stuff! I was thinking along the same lines as Lon et al when I opened it up, but it also works really well as presented. Can't go wrong either way.

Wonderful reflection, great color, too; I agree with cropping the bottom some. :toast:

Beautiful! Reminds me of my childhood watching the Happy Painter guy on PBS (I hope some of you know what I am talking about - "The Joy of Painting" - before cable...). Especially when he uses the painting knives to paint the tree trunks. Simply put, I am very drawn to the tree trunks and orange/yellow leaves, so I agree with cropping the bottom portion. Great abstract!

I remember that guy, watched him too and the photo reminds me of his lake reflection, he always seemed to have a lake of a river in his paintings. Nice abstract, but not unidentifiable.

Ditto. Fall will be here soon.
