OK, it's only me, but I thought some of you might enjoy it.
A little background: As some may recall, well before I became involved in pro-level photography I was an avid backpacker, canoeist, kayaker and mountaineer. As an extended part of my outdoor activities, I became a gear tester for outdoor manufactures and a test moderator for www.backpackgeartest.org (BGT). I have taken a leave of absence from BGT to free up my time for more photography, but I remain in touch with many of the friends I made over the years with the outstanding group of volunteers that comprise BGT. Many of them have followed my progress as a photographer with enthusiasm and several are involved in a new outdoor oriented website. One of them decided to interview me for the website.
I took the opportunity to plug this group, as I consider it one of the best photography resources on the web. My backcountry time has been considerably reduced recently for a number of reasons (most good, but there is only so much time in a day!)so my posting is infrequent and usually in the 'minor' forums when I am able to post at all.
The interview is oriented towards beginners, so don't expect any major revelations! My intent is to encourage the beginners to get out there in the right frame of mind to get some good photos. You can read it here:
