Here are some more photos from my San Juan trip a few weeks ago. After photographing the marmots, ptarmigan and fog the evening before, I was treated to a nice sunrise and found some parry primrose growing along the runoff from Bullion King Lake. This image was one of the first of the morning.

A few minutes later, same location, slightly more golden light. I also brought the camera over the flowers more for a slightly different comp.

After the sunrise, I hiked to some of the smaller lakes and tarns above Bullion King Lake that still had some interesting views of Peak 13,477. Here's one of the tarns.

Another tarn near the previous one. The light was changing fast, this was taken only about ten minutes later.

Back at Bullion King Lake, here's an image of king's crown growing at the shoreline. This is a blend of 5 exposures mixed for best sharpness and for some of the shadow detail around the waterfall.

I took a turn toward Mineral Basin and the Black Bear Pass Road on the drive back down and stopped for this shot of columbine and another waterfall.
These images are all great, but the image on ESS is totally out of sight. WOW!

Another excellent collection, Joshua. My favorite might be #3 as I love the way the stormy sky accentuates the barren landscape. My only nit would be in #1. It might have been my favorite, but I don't like the way the shadowed foreground is almost the same brightness as the lit peak. A bit too much shadow recovery for me.

The Clear Lake image is suuuuuper-nice. Those wonderful clouds provide perfect balance.
