Emerging from the depths
A White Water Lily taken a few weeks ago at a local pond with my 200-500 mm lens.
Comments welcome.

Philip, Nicely seen. I like the leading line (is that the stem?) and also the surface tension effect closer to the lily petals

Very cool shot. Love it. :toast: You may want to clean up some possible light noise from about the level of the reflection down to the bottom of the image.

Ramamohan, Mike the faint line leading off to the right is indeed the stem of the plant. It shows up a lot better on the original.

I thought it might be a posting problem. Sure wish the site would except higher resolution images. I could see the stem through the water, but around it there appeared to be some noise in the clear blue water. Sometimes you can get this to happen when global sharpening is added to an image. Still a great shot Philip!

Really nice, Phil. Good eye to spot this and great job technically keeping the water from going inky black without blowing the flower highlights. Flowering water lilies are very tough subjects to handle well and you did a great job here.
