I admit to dropping a major one on this image . However if I hadn't I doubt this image would have worked at all .This image was taken on day 3 having shot for the previous 2 with auto exposure lock on. I eventually realised some two hours after this shot while doing another subject wondering ..."why was I blowing all the highs on every image ." DOH ! The camera tracks these birds coming out of the sun I hoped . Of course half depressing the shutter also meters for the high's in the sky giving normally an under exposed image when the bird levels against the water.( Thanks Andy A for spotting it but by the time I got your email it was sussed)
It is about a 50% crop from the original ie vert from a landscape.I prefer the crop myself allowing tacit space under the bird.

A superby atmospheric action shot. Serendipity coming up trumps with a little help from the photographer I suspect.
The spray of the water really makes it Mark, great pose, well captured.
BTW, If the Nikon is struggling, I can lend you a couple of Canons that would do the job, NO problem!

Its a dramatic looking image Mark. Its just such a pity for me that there isnt quite enough light on the face of the bird having said that I would still be dead pleased to have it and what a wonderful experience to enjoy.
