Finally Found a Job.....Near This!!!!
Hello,
How is everyone doing? I'm sorry I've been away for a while; I've been busy looking for a job. I will try to catch up on my commenting over the next couple of days.
Well, I'm ecstatic to announce that I found an awesome full time job with benefits! I had to move, because this job is outside of the Denver area, but that's more than ok with me --- because it's in Gunnison! I have always dreamed of living in or near Crested Butte, and now I'm 30 miles away! God has blessed me in a big way! Crested Butte is one of my favorite places, and I am also near many other beautiful areas. I started my new job this morning, and my first days off are on Sunday and Monday, so I'm going exploring! I want to thank everyone who wished me luck in my job search! Funny thing is, I applied and interviewed at countless places in the Denver area, and never received ONE full time offer! Then, boom! A permanent, full time job pops up here in the small town of Gunnison, CO! Great benefits, and when I go back to school, they will help pay for it. More than I could have ever expected. Prayers do work lol. Anyways, here are a few images from this area...nothing earth- shattering, but nice reminders to myself of how blessed I am to live within close proximity to this. Hope you all have a good rest of the week and weekend.

Awesome Kelly! Congrats on the new job and move! Love that 2nd image!

You do of course realize now that we know you are down there, we'll be expecting fall color updates!

Congratulations, Kelly!
I think you made a terrific move myself. What sort of work are you doing?
Find a place to stay yet?

That's great Kelly! It sounds like you landed your dream job. I had a job offer in Montrose a few years ago and passed it up. What was I thinking.

Congratulations on finding your new job near a place you find great happiness. Looking forward to seeing your Aspen photo's.

And your new employer is? Congrats! You'll want to dress in layers this winter—the more, the better.

Congrats! That is really great. Now we know where we can all set up camp for the fall colors gathering!

Congratulations, and yes, prayers do work. What a blessing for you to be so close to so many great photo spots. Can't wait to see all the explorations you will do. Oh, and nice shots by the way.

Congrats Kelly, nice place to work, mind you my car did break down there!

Congrats Kelly. It's the coldest spot in Colorado, and it's worth it. We almost moved there once. I'm jealous!

Congratulations, Kelly! I loved the year I lived in Paonia, and if I could have made money there I definitely would have stayed. Colorado is your oyster from Gunnison.

Thanks so much, guys! Yeah, I know it's the coldest spot in Colorado...I will definitely be dressing in layers. I did find a great apartment, on ground level, and it's not really even like an apt. It's in a 4 plex building. I have my own covered porch, yard, and designated parking. There are 2 outdoor outlets on the outside wall where I park. Wonder what that's for....maybe for plugging in my car? LOL.
To answer the question about what I do....I am a nurse, and got a job at the local nursing home here. It's tied in with the hospital, which means county employment, which means great benefits and generous shift differentials. My schedule is kind of crazy, (2 days off in a row, then work 3 days, off 1 day, work a couple of days, off 2 days, etc), but at least it's full time work! I keep hearing how hard it is to find good paying work around here, so I am definitely blessed!
We could probably arrange a base camp here for fall colors on a couple of my days off. My apt. is a 2 bedroom...except there is no bed in there yet, so ya'll would have to bring your sleeping bags! LOL.
Thanks again for your great comments everyone. Will post updates soon.

Yup, God is good! Congratulations.
You'll love living on the west side even if it's flippin' cold. Although I think Craig and Fraser are close runners up in terms of cold.

Jackson, when did you live in Paonia? I grew up there but I know very few people that live there now.

Congrats on landing such a plum job in an incredible area Kelly! Very hard to believe you couldn't find FT positions for nursing in Denver. I thought they were crying for nurses. Whatever...absolutely love shot number two. Best of luck in your new life :toast:

What great luck that you couldn't find a job in Denver; that means you get to live in beautiful Gunnison! It may get cold but the images you'll get will be worth it.
