Lassen Wildfires
Hi everyone, It has been a while since I have had a chance to post anything here. Hopefully my schedule will slow down a bit in the fall. I took a quick trip up to Lassen National Park last week in order to explore some potential workshop locations. Due to some wildfires in the vicinity the images I returned with were not what I expected. I just posted this image over at Earth Sea and sky. Lassen peak can be seen to the far right of the image. The constellation scorpio appears in the upper left. Photographed from the top of the cinder cone at Butte Lake just after sunset. Equipment; Canon 5D mkII, 24-105L lens.

More images can be seen at; http://svimages.smugmug.com/Landscapes/Lassen-Peak-August-2009/9441547_QL2sP

I also visited the wild horse sanctuary in Shingletown. The weather was hot and the horses not very active. I plan on a return trip in the fall.

Thanks for having a look.

Paul,

As sad and scary as wildfires can be, this is actually quite beautiful. Excellent night time photography.
