First bird shot with a recently purchased Nikon 200-400.
The shot was taken with a 1.7tc and although its sharp it doesnt have the same edge as my 300 f2.8 when combined with the 1.7tc. Having said that I'm sure this lens is going to get a lot of use even if its restricted to the 1.4tc when that bit of extra reach is required.
Nikon D300
Nikon 200-400mm + 1.7tc @650mm
320 iso
500th sec
f11
HH
About 80% of full file.
I like the tones, just greys and browns , work well nice shot.

You have positioned yourself well for this, no doubt virtually on the ground. Good luck with new lens, even if it does not like the 1.7 it still looks like a cracker.

I particularly like the upward turn of the head, obviously something is flying over, takes it away from being a standard portrait.

Good comp too.
