Tonight's sunset
This is a 4 shot HDR taken along Marlatt Ave just outside of Manhattan.

A bittersweet evening for me...a few weeks ago we lost our dog Buddy...he would have been 15 in November. I used to go out to Marlatt Park and hike and take pictures with him a lot. It was strange to not have him running through my frame while I was shooting. I did have our new puppy Tucker with me tonight though and I think he is going to make a good hiking and photography partner (as soon as he stops wanting to chew up all my gear).

I shot several HDR's and pseudo HDR's tonight and I've uploaded some to my blog at:

Critiques and suggestions to improve always welcome and appreciated!

Excellent Scott.

How did you find a location where the wind was not blowing?

Sorry to hear about your dog, Scott. Good luck with the pup.

It looks like sunflowers are the theme for right now and these look pretty good. Nice job with the HDR, it looks real natural. I can imagine that to get the nice light that you did on the sunflowers in one shot, the sky would have been pretty blown out.

Your photo is a fitting tribute to a beloved companion. The converging clouds do a nice job of drawing the eyes to the sunflowers in the center. Very effective capture.

Very nice Scott! I'm with Daniel on this one..The clouds really draw the eye in to the flowers. Makes the image a standout, not just another flower picture. Great job! Sorry to hear about your dog. I'm sure this new pup will be just as fine a companion to you.

Great clouds you had in this one, Scott, and nice depth. Wouldn't change a thing.
