A quick search didn't show anyone else with this news: Congratulations to NPN'er Howard Cheek on his Grand Prize in the Third Annual Best Nature Digital Photo Contest. His photo of a female Northern Cardinal in mid-landing is featured on the cover of The Nature Conservancy's 2010 Calendar.

Thanks Jim! My first cover shot, so it means a lot to me of course.
I shot the bird in December 2005 with my first Canon. A 20D & 100-400mm lens.
It came in off center-left corner, with a < 25% crop..F/8, 1/2700th, and ISO 400 in bright sunlight.

A bit tight - Just made it :)
