I was planning on Oct 5-10 but after emailing TL, he thinks it would be way past peak for Bells and possibly Kebler. I'm also including Ridgeway and Silverjack. Should I move it up to Sept 29-Oct 4th? I seem to remember last year it was peak at most of those areas on the earlier week.

Jack,

I have always seen that the "peak" is usually around those earlier dates you posted. I think your later dates would very likely be past peak at the Bells and Kebler, and even though the areas further south peak a little later it could be late there too. I usually try and hit that earlier time frame, so if it were me I would go earlier.

By all means...move it up.

I agree.

5-10 is too late. I've found the last half of the first week of Oct to be at prime for the SJ's.

Got to agree with the above folks. Which is saying something, as it's tough for me to agree with Todd! OK, just kidding!

Typically, that will be quite past time for the Bells especially, and most likely Kebler too. I've found that first week of October to be nice in the San Juans. Might have some green mixed in, but you will find something cool to shoot, I can almost guarantee!

Now, just to mix things up, keep in mind this.... who know what can happen! I say that because back in 2002, I hit the San Juans for a quick three day trip Oct 11-13, and found awesomeness! The last 6 shots from this page are from that time: Fall 2002

Have fun!

Lets see if I got this right. I think I should go the 29th - 4th. And I need some green ribbon. I can do that!
