An early start a couple of weeks ago rewarded me with a dew covered Small Skipper.

Canon 40D with Sigma 150, f13, 1/60, ISO 200.

All C+C welcomed.

Matt

Superb.
The golden light, the dew, the subject matter, it's got it all.

I like the shot, the composition and background are fine but this looks a bit soft on my screen and there is rather too much contrast for me.

Hi Matt,

lovely shot with a classic background and the dew makes it.

How ever I agree with Bob in that it looks a wee bit soft ( Disclaimer I am old and half blind ) :wavey:

Fab. Hard to improve this IMO.

The dew looks like tiny little micro lenses, well worth getting out of bed for, don't you love it when a plan comes together

I've just come back for another look at this one and in addition to my previous comments I think the way the light is catching the butterfly's wings is really quite special and magical.
Love it. :toast: :toast:

Sorry Matt I am going to buck the trend a little here... the skipper is great but I find the perch a little too dominant for my taste at least....

Your comment on my European skipper made me curious about your small skipper ... Similar indeed. Wonderful image, full of detail and lovely warm colours.
