Three Gossips....

These three sunflowers stood out to me the other day while I was out shooting, they reminded me of the Three Gossips out in Arches. I was having a heck of a time getting everything to balance with the sun setting behind them so I decided to try an HDR of the image. I had fun playing with the image but in the end I tried to not make it have too much of that high contrast HDR glow. My favorite part of the image is how well the pollen on the leafs turned out.

Jim, this is one of the better Sunflower images I've seen. Love the subtle glow in the leaves, and the detail in the disk. My only nitpick, and I could be seeing it wrong, is the halo around each flower that appears to be a product of PP.

Sunflowers look great, but that sky could use some work (haloing as noted).

This is a cool image, Jim. I don't mind the haloing as much as the splotch of grey between the middle and right flowers. A dynamic sky across the image, with reduced haloing, would enhance this image in my opinion. Otherwise, this is a great image and thanks for sharing.

Sweet shot! I like the soft light and composition. But I think I'd rather see it with the sky blown out than with the HDR artifacts. Actually now that I think about it, it could look really cool if the entire sky was completely blown out to pure white.

Completely agree with Jack. Might be worth trying. Blown out highlights don't bother me, the gray does - an HDR artifact. Very nice comp. I love how the leaves in the lower half capture the light.

My vote would be somewhere between what you have and what Jack suggests. A tad lighter than here, and with the halos cleaned up. Great comp and color!

I don't care for the sky but the rest of the image is good.
