Hello all. I'm planning a two week Oregon coast trip next year. Since It's this far in advance I have a lot of flexibility, but was thinking about August-September. What could I expect weather wise? Any suggestons would be appreciated. Thanks.

About 60-75 degrees, partly cloudy west of the coast range, about 75-95 in the Willamette Valley, and 80-100 east of the cascade range. After Sept. 15 subract 5-10 degress from these temps and add a few more clouds. Should be dry.

David is right on the money temp-wise.

One thing to be aware of is the potential for thick evening fog that can materialize quite quickly. Typically the hotter the temperatures are inland, the more likely it is to get foggy by late afternoon and cause havoc for sunset photo shoots. Late June through late August are the worst months for fog. By September though, the odds of seeing a nice sunset go up. Fog isn't always bad though. It can cause some real strange weather effects that lead to moody or surreal photography. I just see it so much, i get burnt out by mid-summer.

Mornings are great on the beach, and my favorite time to be out. The fog that comes in by evening leaves things clean, calm, and fresh for the next day. If you are up early enough for sunrise, you'll likely have the place to yourself, except for possibly a few ambitious dog-walkers or joggers. It always blows my mind that more people don't go to the beach in the mornings. Its kind of a blessing and a shame all at the same time.

Good luck to ya. You'll have a good time no matter what the weather dishes out. Just don't forget to take advantage of sunrises. It's worth losing a little sleep over.

Ditto on the sunrises...dont discount giving yourself a 200% increase in chances to capture great light at the coast. The marine layer seems to hang more in the summertime, so if you can make your trip a tad later...you might better your odds.
