Got to Dream lake mid afternoon, when the scene was front lit. Since I got to RMNP so late I resigned myself to just taking a hike, and not even expecting to get to take any shots at all. The cloud gods smiled on me and gave me this scene though. I generally don't do B&W, but this shot was screaming to be converted. Lemme know what you guys think.

I love 'em both, but maybe the b&w a tad more.

The clouds and light make them both great. Really excellent work. I, of course, prefer the color.

As presented here, B/W. The bright foreground rock is a clincher. I'm seeing some funky colors in the clouds. May be just JPEG artifacts. Also try a 4x5 crop - eliminating some of the left edge.

I agree with Todd. Even with the front lighting, I like 'em both, B&W just a little more. Both also need a slight clockwise rotation to level the horizon.

The b/w one really stands out to me.

I like the color one better, but both versions are great. Thanks for posting.

I like the b&w conversion you chose here. Much more dramatic than the color version!
The sheer face of the boulder midground far right could stand to be burned down some to eliminate a potential distraction.
Agree with a slight crop on the left.
Good job!

TY for the feedback guys, certainly some useful suggestions. Rather than decide between one or the other I think this time both are keepers for my website.

I agree, I like the B&W version better. Agree about the right midground. Very nice image.
