San Juan Wildflowers: Stony Pass
This is my final post in the July wildflower series. Here's a few from the Stony Pass area near Silverton. The first image is of columbine clinging to the shoulder of Green Mountain. It was taken shortly after sunset.

A few hours earlier, a storm had passed revealing this rainbow as seen from the top of the pass looking east.

I had taken a wrong turn on my way up the pass onto a much rougher road. Luckily, I came across this cool mine and had enough room to turn around.

Larkspur on the west side of the pass the next morning.

Finally, paintbrush and the view from the west side of the pass during sunrise. This is a two-exposure manual blend. Hope you all enjoyed the wildflower images this year!

Great images Josh! I really like how the flowers seem to be looking out at the view in #1. That mine is really cool too. I wonder what a B&W or sepia effect would do to it?

oooops, I interrupted your posts Joshua...sorry. I was referring especially to that first image...I gotta have one like that! The rest are pretty darn good too.

You sure had a productive summer!
I like 'em all, but the first really grabs my eye...a very effective composition. It just appears that you had to climb quite high to capture these, even if you didn't.
A real nice variety of blooms in the last one, too.
As Jeremy noted, the mine shack is a good candidate for b&w treatment.

You're sure letting these images trickle out slowly. Another great collection, Josh.

Holy Cow! What an incredible series of images. I don't want to diminish any of them by saying that #1 extraordinary.

As everyone has already said, very well done. I really like the colors in the floral images and the nice view provided by your composition in #1. Really sweet stuff.

Very nice Joshua, I really like #1 and #5. The soft light and colors combined with the stunning view on #1 is outstanding.

That 1st one of the columbines is a super sweet shot! The last one is as well! The middle three are really good by themselves but take a back seat to the 1st and last ones. What a fantastic year you've been having!

That last one is just amazing, what date did you take it?
