A storm that circled around me just over 180 degrees. Just after this, the dogs started whining so it was time to leave!

Posted this in ESS a while back. Tetons during a storm in late July - no lightning like Laurent's though.

Taken from Tunnel View one early morning in early April. I call this "Approaching storm".

I've posted this a time or two before, but I'll have to go with my moonbow & lightning shot.

Should be some incredible images this month.

Summer storms in Utah's west desert.

What an amazing shot, Jeff! Just perfect for b&w, too.
You're right...already some outstanding work posted here.

Looks like something out of "War of the Worlds", Wow very nice Jeff. Glad I don't have to pick this months winner, going to be a tough one.

Wow Jack, that is amazing. I bet that will get your attention

Ouch Jack, I can feel that from here. I bet the boomer left your ears ringing!

Jeff, that shot is AMAZING! Never seen anything quite like it.

No lightning for me, but I saw this nice storm in Arches this May -- I may have posted this one before, but oh well

I guess there's this...

Holy Moly are there some incredible images so far!
Jeff, that shot is truly amazing, as well as Jack's, and Gran'ts. Heck, all of them are.

Here's a shot I took a few years ago just before getting hammered by a fast-approaching storm.

Scenes From My Commute - #12

Rainbow over Mesa Verde with Chimney Rock in the background.

This is shaping up to be an excellent series of images!

Wow John, I don't think I would mind your commute at all. Terrific image!

Monsoon over the Chiricahua. Ok if I post two :-) This stuff is so exciting. Great images from everyone!

Jack: Your photo from the Needle mountains seriously made my pulse quicken and my palms sweaty. Holy crap, that is exactly why lightning freaks me out!

A snowstorm adds a little interest to the view of Turret Arch through North Window.

Here's one more. I just captured this tonight on the edge of a storm at sunset about a half hours hike up in the hills by our house. Awesome images everyone!

Heres one from close to home--lake Pueblo storm.

Good luck picking the cover this time...these are all rediculously awesome :toast: Mine was taken after dark looking west towards Mt Princeton.
Posted by Erik Aagaard on September 21, 2009 at 4:34 PM
It doesn't compare to Jack's lightning shot in the "oh, crap" factor, but this one impressed me at the time as being mighty close for comfort!

And here's a more picturesque shot - the aftermath of an epic thunderstorm on the Masai Mara, right at sunset.
Posted by Bret Edge on September 22, 2009 at 11:45 AM
I love that Masai Mara photo, Erik. Awesome!

A stormy sunset near Wolf Creek Pass. What a fun thread to look through!

These are all really great. This was looking west from Castle Rock toward Dawson Butte.
Posted by Laurie Wendt on September 29, 2009 at 10:08 PM
I have 1 for this. Departing storm clouds made for some nice light! Awesome lightning shots everyone.

Some amazing photos. It seems that I am blessed with always having clear blue skies when I go out shooting. This is one of the rare exceptions. Storm over Lake Katherine in Mt. Zirkel.
