Not been around for a while, and been working like mad, so not managed much in the way of photography either.

Whilst I was feeling sorry for myself, what with not being able to get those days out I'd planned, I remembered we always have nature close by and took a few shots of the young sparrows in the garden eating the buddleia seeds.

Worth remembering that you don't need to go far to enjoy yourself!

hi iain

lovely shoot of what was once a common bird, however these birds have deminished greatly over the last few years.

great detail and bg and as you rightly say you dont have to go far to enjoy nature as it is all around us

It's a lovely image. Colours, composition and detail are spot on. I hope this was at a low ISO otherwise I'll be wishing for nikon again. (no noise at all)

Thanks for the kind comments chaps. :)

I just checked the exif, and it was shot at ISO250, so quite low!

Great image of this common bird. I did try sometimes myself to "shoot" these birds. But with no success.

a very nice shot. We still have a few of these around my way, I'd hate to see them go.

A nice image Iain. Like the composition but not sure about the OOF brown area on the left. They say these little fellows are getting scarer but they are eating me out of house and home

A nice shot of a very appealing species. I like the mossy perch too. :toast:

Very nice shot with some super detail, but like Maggie I'm not to keen on the extra seed head in the BG.

A fine looking image Iain and one of a bird I don't think I've photographed, very nice to see the more common species being posted.

Thanks for all the comments, including the critique, I shall take it on board.

I didn't realise that Sparrows were quite so threatened in some parts of the UK. :frown:
