Great pics. And not to be the safety police or anything, but you really should keep a distance of at least 8 ft from grizzleys to avoid them shouting at your ass as that one is doing.

The first three look heavily photoshop'd, but the last one looks really good.
On a real note the 2nd one is really nice.

LOL... that last shot...
Love the second shot. Lots of nice photos on the blog too. Looks like an amazing area.
Btw, what tent is that? Do you like it?

I think that bear is trying to tell you that your ND filter is tilted or something.

Jack, I'm using a Marmot Eos 1 now. Love it. Ditched the tarptents, after two consecutive blow-outs destroyed my corner seams ... both from wind gusts in the Wind Rivers. The Eos is light enough, very sturdy, freestanding, and has a really nice vestibule.

I feel ya' baby! I have read too many of those Outdoor Life magazines while getting a haircut that had the " I survived a bear attack." stories.
The trip report was awesome, as well as the photos. So many excellent shots. A productive, if not relaxing trip.

I didn't know there were so many bears in Ice Lakes Basin!!!

Love the second one Jesse.... but the last one...that's the best!!! You are so cool...and focused in your art, even when monsters are around!!! Great stuff Jesse..... your blog has a lot of cool stuff too...

Jesse, I really enjoyed your trip report! I feel the same way when photographing at Glacier NP. I too saw bear poop on a trail and walked pretty fast back to civilization after that.

Great stuff here Jesse. Really like #2. The last one is a riot.
I can appreciate your thoughts about bears as I will be up in Kalispell in mid October for work. I plan to drive over to Glacier a time or two and a thought of a griz. on the trail has crossed my mind.

Really cool trip report/blog, and nice collection of images!. #3 is my favourite from above!.
#2 is amazing, really awesome. #3 is impressive in that the photographer is remaining rather calm next to those man eaters.

I had a great uncle who was mauled by a grizzly...the second shot is great!

Very entertaining read, Jesse, and some awesome shots as well! It sounds and looks like a great place to photograph. Glad you didn't get eaten!

Ha! Great report and beautiful images. #3 cracks me up, and so do your requirements for a backpacking partner - slow and delicious smelling.

Nice stuff, Jesse! Looks like a great place to set up camp. Those bears look pretty small and friendly to me.

Great trip report and images, Jesse. Maybe next time you should plan on photographing bears. That way, it's a sure bet you'll never see one

#2 is good too.
Terrific stuff, Jesse! Always a delight to see Northern Rockies shots. I love the first shot you posted here, and I loved the other thunderstorm images on the blog.

Thanks for all the comments. #4 is "just like my eyes saw it".
I will likely return to the area next summer. If anyone is interested in some MT backpacking, let me know!

Beautiful images, One place I've been meaning to get to for a while now, I've only got a civic though so I'd probably be walking in, or hopefully this winter skiing in. I've been backpacking in the Beartooths solo almost every weekend for four summers now, so if you plan on returning you should give me a shout
