One from North Uist this May having just finished processing a few remaining images from the trip. This was my 4th trip to North Uist and the best for Corncrake, I think I arrived at the same time they did as they were calling everywhere - I could hear 5 calling males from the garden of our cottage!

Looks like it has swine flu Cant remember the last time i saw such a good clear image of this species-very nice indeed, Undecided about the spital but easy enough to remove if you wanted

A superb image, showing great timing. A pity there's no sound.

Only ever got to hear one of these birds and a fleeting glimpse once.. So this is quite special David, really nice work.

Hello David.
Beautiful capture and great to see one out in the open.
The comment about the matchstick made me smile.

Great Shot David
I was also on North Uist this May but never saw a corncrake although I heard them everyday. I think the neighbourhood cat was helping to keep them well hidden. :-(
