Grouse
1DII, 500/4, 1/640 @f5/6 Ev-1/3, ISO 200. Car & Beanbag.

From an evening out a couple of weeks back when, for once this summer, there was some strong evening sunlight & a few Grouse showing too.

This chap was calling in response to a challenge from a nearby male.

Best "calling" shot I've seen for a while Nick - I particularly like that you've got a good exposure for the colour inside the "shouty bit".

Nice....

Very vocal shot! Bet he wouldn't do that during hunting season!

Stunning shot, I hand in my notice and go to the moors right now!

Lovely, one of the best grouse shots I have seen. I might have positioned him a tad more to the left to keep the head off centre, but that is a very minor nit indeed.

What a lovely action shot this is. Great colours and composition. Well done.

Really well caught, right in the middle of the action, he should be keeping his head down though as were in the middle of the shooting season, I've not seen such a pale coloured male before, maybe he is a young one from this year. :toast:

What a cracker! A real bonus to get him calling. I think you could lose a little of the OOF stuff at the bottom and that would be even stronger.

Very colorful and a cracking pose Nick.
