I couldn't find anything on Amazon and was wondering if anyone here has published anything or could recommend a book? If not a book then maybe a cd, blog, etc...
Thanks,
Derek

I have the Bourelle info and it is excellent - well worth the $15 - print one copy out, and keep one on the computer.

Thanks Guys,
I just purchased Bourelle's guide. I may pick up that Eastern Sierra Vistors guide as well. I am kind of a research nut. So the more decent material I can find the better.
I appreciate the input!

Derek,
There are a number of Eastern Sierra color guides available at the Bishop Visitors Bureau on main street across from the Schat's bakery: Bishop Vacation Planner, Eastern High Sierra Fall Color Guide, High Sierra Treasure Map, Eastern Sierra Scenic Byway pamphlet and on and on. I have additional copies for your planning purposes if needed. Also, California's Eastern Sierra Visitor's Guide by Sue Irwin covers the area from the Lone Pine Region to the Bridgeport Region with lots of informative text, maps and photographs; you're welcome to preview the visitor's guide too. Let me know and we can get together to get you the info.

The information Centers have good research material. The first Information Center you come to coming from the South on 395 is the Death Valley Information center just outside Lone Pine.

Try this if you don't already have a physical copy.

to follow up to what Reno said, I usually tell people to visit the Bishop Chamber of Commerce if their looking for local info. I forgot to this time. Good people in there very willing to help get you to where you want to go and a wealth of info. They do put out a fall color guide as well as a light offraod motor touring guide which is really good. Here's a link to their guides.

I picked up "The Deepest Valley" at the visitors center in Bishop awhile back. It's not a fall color guide, but it's a great book on the Owens Valley and Eastern Sierra.

I really like this book
The High Sierra: Peaks, Passes, and Trails by R. J. Secor
It helps me get outside of what a photo guide is telling me to shoot so it's obviously not a photoguide.
