Change
The shifting of the seasons is more apparent at higher altitudes now. I went up to Summit Lake last week and the tundra is changing into all kinds of colors.

This first one is just above treeline.

Comments and critiques welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

The second was at the lake, and the light was changing quickly also,

The clouds were doing some fun things, too.

I absolutely love the tundra this time of year! The trees provide a nice sense of scale in #1. I might suggest working on the bit of light falloff in the corners.

I'm with Jesse on #1, I really like the colours and sense of scale!. Isn't this the last weekend of the season you can drive the road to the top?.

Thanks Jesse, I'll work on those corners.
Thanks, Nick, and yes, I think it is closed to car traffic now until next Memorial Day. :frown: Of course, you could walk or bicycle it now, or cross country ski or snowshoe it later I suppose.

You got an audible "Wow!" from me when that first one popped onscreen. (My wife's sitting five feet away and probably thinks I'm looking at porn.) The Summit Lk. shot is very dramatic as well.

I like the first two also, nice.

Good stuff here Morris. I prefer #2 with the arc of the lake mirroring the peaks.

Yeah, i noticed the tundra changing up in the Sangres, too. I love #1 here--great shot! #2 is a nice comp, but something about the processing is throwing me a bit; the cloud highlites seem very bright, so i would expect the lit areas on the mountain to be bright too but they are more muted, and the ulhc is very dark  W/o knowing how you handled the DR here, all i can say is maybe darker sky or brighter fg.

I like the "mood" of the second one...

I like all 3 Morris, I have a couple cloud shots like that myself. Finally things are changing. It's kind of funny, we wait all winter looking foward to the spring wildflowers then we can't wait for the fall colors, then it starts all over. I love this hobby.

Great set of images Morris, I like them all, with the second one being a slight favorite over the first one. It really shows off the changing conditions nicely.
