Hiked to Lake Margaret in the El Dorado Forest last weekend. These little guys coming up from the lake and floating on the water caught my eye and I tried multiple times to isolate a few to create an interesting comp. The little blue thing on the top right floater is a dragon fly I believe.

If it wasn't for the trailing stems these would look like alien spaceships, very interesting photo

Mike,
I really like this. Delicate, intimate and also intriguing because without your description, the abstractness of the dark area is really left to the imagination. Not much you could do about it, but I'm kinda wishing that the brighter stem didn't lead out of the frame, but that's not really a big deal.
Good eye.

those leafs are really cool. They look like little fish! I agree w/ lon I wish that stem didn't go out of frame. Could always clone it out?

This is pretty nice minimalism Mike. Also this is a shot you want to get the best quality out of the lens used to pick up the finer details.

What cool find! I love the shapes of those leaves and your placement of them in the frame. I too wouldn't be opposed to cloning out that stem leaving the frame, but this more than works as presented too. Nice work!
Delightfully simple Mike. I agree with Lon it'd have been nice if that stem wasn't there. But can't do much about that. I could see the background a little closer to black (at least, have some richer blacks in it, it's nice to see the subtle details there).
