This is a really pretty shot, Kane. I like the comp and pano format. I know what you mean about the tundra colors. This is my favorite time of year up there.

Yea, its not the best mountain comp but I think the colors make it work.
Im not the biggest I-70 cooridor fan however you can't beat the access to these peaks. And I was surprised by the nice view from Parnassus. Overall its a better mountain than I thought; it's just covered in tundra. Thinking a sunrise from 13500 is in order.

Wow, those colors sure make it look fall-y (that's a technical term)

The colors of the tundra in that shot are wonderful. The curves of the comp are great too.

Great portrait of the tundra colors at this time of year. I agree with jack on the curves. I also appreciate seeing the effects of the sun throughout the pano format - earth shadow on the left to the invading light at right. Great use of the format.

9 repliesA quick hike up Woods and Parnassus Mountian provided a nice way to kick off the Labor day.
Minutes before sunrise from Point 12804, Labor Day 2009. I love it when the tundra switches color in Fall, from greens to yellows and reds.
Later today I'll post a second shot with alpenglow.
