After seeing the superb deer shots from Edwin Kats i was unsure about posting this as it isn't a patch on his work......
Take in Glen Etive on a (sadly drizzly and overcast day) I would have aimed to go back another day with better weather but this was the 2nd of two days i had up there.
ISO 400
F/5.6
SS 1/200TH
EV -0.7
400MM F/2.8 + 2xTC
1D MKIII
All C&C appreciated, particularly with framing of the shot as this is something i struggle with.
Thanks
Andy

Hi Andy ,
Love the look and those velvetine antlers. However, the crop isn't as I would have done it .IMHO it needs more headroom, the fencing needs dealing with and a tadge more feeling of isolation.Nice sharp shot though and those Glen deer aint easy to come by.

I know what your saying I struggle too, the subject looks fine but Marks advice is the way to go.

Hi Mark
i can see what you mean about the headroom, How would you go about removing the fence? some cloning and stamping? Im limited to Aperture at the moment but should have PSE soon.......
Really need to stop editing when im sleepy lol
Cheers

Its a nice shot Andy, I agree with the fence removal just a bit cloning and no one will know
I also agree with Mark on giving the Deer a bit of head room as it is very tight.

Nice shot Andy especially of a wild deer. I think it would benefit from warming up the colour temperature, it all looks a bit blue to me. Eric

Looks nice but difficult to appreciate at such a small size. Perhaps consider linking to a larger version next time.

cheers Mark, looks a lot more "natural" without the fencing.
Thankyou to everyone for you comments and pointers on framing. Hopefully you'll see the improvement soon
