A period of time ago there was a post which featured a free and fast program for viewing RAW. I've updated to 64-bit and cannot find that program.

Searching NP has not turned up the site.

Anyone remember this program and have the address?

Thanks,

Larry

You can try Paint.net Not sure if it does this but it's a free photoshop like program so it might do it.

You can also view raw files in Picasa. It's a free file viewing/organizing program by by Google I believe.

Ok...from your title, I am guessing this is what your are asking about. Instant Jpeg from Raw

I looked but not sure it will work on 64-bit. Its free so its worth the try.

Harold's right...I posted that thread some time ago and am using it with 64 bit Windows.

Thanks Harold.

That's the one and I like it.

It did say on the site that 64-bit was not yet supported but John subsequently said it worked.
Will try it.

How did you find that? I did several searches but to no avail.
Thanks
Larry

I must admit it...I cheated. When John posted the link to it, I went and downloaded it. All I had to do was open the program and get the correct name, then do a google search

Hi Larry

I use FastStone Image viewer. http://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDetail.htm
I can view RAW files with it. In fact I like it better than Adobe Bridge. It's free. Don't know if it works on 64 bit.

Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6.1) is 64-bit and its included iPhoto handles RAW images.

Thanks for all the help. I found the original one I was looking for but tried several others. So far I think I like Fastsone that Buck Ward mentioned.

Seems to work fine on 64-bit. Gives all the data and does not create file which takes up memory. One can work on the selected file only.

Picasa is similar but I'm going to use Faststone.

Thanks to all.

I've paid my dues to become a member but I'm having trouble signing in. Awaiting help from the managment....
