I got back to my kingfishers yesterday and this time I took all my cf cards. They were very obliging and spent long periods fishing in front of me throughout the day. The weather was not as kind though and a cloudless sky meant that the light was horrible all day long. Having struggled to get any KF shots at all for so long, I now have all the shots I could possibly want of them just sitting around posing. That is why I have put this one up, I underexposed it heavily to get a rim lit shot and so as not to burn anything out too much and to be honest, I just like it especially from a distance. He has to be facing away from the camera for the sun to catch his eye at all. I like to think that it looks like he is having one last cast although I actually took the shot at about lunchtime.

A much more interesting artistic kingfisher shot tha most that we see. I like it although I wish the bull rush head were more complete at the bottom. You clearly had to work for the shot and I think it's pretty successful.
