Help with dragonfly identification
Hi folks,

I'm hoping someone can help me with identification of this dragonfly that I photographed a few months ago on the Deschutes NF near Bend, OR. (I think it is a Common Baskettail, but not positive.)

Any help with the id would be appreciated!

Dont know what it is, but nice detail! And it looks like the dragon fly on the lily pad in the Lotus flower slot machine.

Try looking it up at Bug Guide. In particular, starting at this page.

Thanks, Cliff - I was lucky that the cool weather that morning kept him in one place long enough for some good shots!!

Geoff - thanks for the link to the Bug Guide!

I don't know either, but you captured it well!! I like the out of focus opposing diagonals in the background, too.

Did you go to Willamette High in Eugene? :wavey:

Thanks, John - I've tried to get good shots of dragonflies in the past but the little buggers are so fast! LOL!

Hi Jerry!

Thanks for the comments on the photo and yep - you guess it - I'm a Wolverine. Drop me a note off forum - haven't talked to any of the other alums for many years.
