Great Egrets at Jordan Lake
FYI, the great egrets are congregating at the northern end of Jordan Lake where the causway for NC 751 first cuts across the lake. The low water has provided additional wading / hunting grounds for these birds who are taking advantage.

Go check it out, there are dozens of them up there! Also some GBHs too.

Looks like an outstanding place to visit. Is this an annual migration? Any close ups?

Thanks guys. I do have a couple of closeups, although I am a bit limited (my longest lens is 210mm on a 1.5x crop).

The lake has dried up even more, and the sheet of water here is now a sheet of mud. :-/
