I spent a good portion of the day in PC yesterday checking out changing tides that never seemed to change........big chaotic ocean motion all day long with some really huge waves too.....Although this does not show the huge waves, it does capture the violence the ocean was stirring up yesterday.....

There were some crazy people there with their little kids close to the edge, and I have one shot of this guy running up the hill away from the water....if the water would have caught his feet he would have fell into the ocean because he was on the downhill slope......

I am just thankful that no one died while I was there.....or at all for that fact....

Thanks again for the support, I still lurk around here every day to see what people are doing......

Great wave action and colors, the composition IMO is right on perfect!

I love everything about this one. The composition, the colors of the rocks and the turbulent wave action.

I have to be honest, I'm always a little nervous photographing the coast. Maybe it's because I grew up a desert rat. I worry I'll get lost in the camera and taking the photo, missing that incoming tide or sneaker wave. It amazes me when people act like you describe Darren; they must have no idea how tough the cold and pounding would be.

I was at Kiwanda for two sunrises and a sunset last weekend, but had boring light and wasn't able to come away with what I wanted. In addition, there was almost no wave action. I'll be going back.

Kiwanda has to be one of my fav spots on the coast. Looks like you captured some great action. It's really difficult to get wave action all up that cliff line. If this were mine, I'd probably desaturate the brownish water...it makes the scene a bit less attractive.

People can be very daring/stupid at times. I'm afraid I have fit into that catagory when shooting the coast on a number of occassions, wanting to get out to the rocks with a decent perspective looking over at the high tide crashing in.
