Little owl at dusk
Yesterday's wonderful sunset put an end to a frustrating week with this species. Everything came together as I'd pre-visualised and I had the added bonus of a really close encounter with a barn owl - it circled my stationary car 3 times, screeched and left!! Bizarre, but great to see.

1Ds3, 500 + 1.4x, ISO 400, 1/6 @ F/5.6, Bean-bag weighted tripod, car 'hide', Mirror lock + cable release. FF

C&C welcomed,

Cheers,
Chris

Lovely silhouette! Seems sharp too, which I always find difficult with silhouettes. . I'm sure the post was leaning but I can't help feel a bit of rotation would help.

Hi Chris,

This image works so much better than the last one you posted IMO, the portrait format suits the image.

Yes... the head turn reveals enough shape to discern what you are looking at... I like it.

Brilliant shot, love the detail in the silhouette.

As for the Barn Owl I know they screech around the nest site, so maybe you were to close
