Anyone planning a trip out there next weekend? Wondering if there is any possibility of car pooling. How long does the drive take from Denver? I think I recall Bob telling me he went out there last year and just drove early in the AM to get there for sunrise shoot. Any thoughts/recommendations on areas to hike after shooting sunrise shots? Thanks in advance for the info guys!

I havent figured out whether i can get a few days off or so yet. If I don't get the time I'll be happy to share a ride with you.

Koveh, I probably won't be able to make it out there until October...my plan is to stop there overnight before continuing to Moab for the fall get together. (Which may be too late for good fall color photos, but I'll give it a try)
When I went last year, I drove out one day, spent the night in Aspen and then got up very early the next morning. I headed back home after that.

Last year I left at midnight...got there around 5:30 and had plenty of time to setup. I made a major mistake though. I used a color enhancer filter and ruined almost all my shots so I'm going there on the morning of the 29th for a redo on my first leg of a five day trip to the San Juans/Kebler area.

Richard, let me know what you decide to do. If you don't end up going for an extended trip there, we can carpool up there. I am hoping to be there for the sunrise shoot, then maybe hike around and do some casual shooting for a few hours after.

Jack, not too late to get some new pictures out there.
