Before we get started on this year's contest I wanted to check with everyone about submission rules. Last year I received several emails about limiting the submissions to the RMNP states. That is, you can only submit images from the seven states - Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming.
Should we limit the submissions for the 2009 Fall Color Contest to only the RMNP Stats? Please respond with a YES or NO
YES - Limit submissions to the RMNP states.
NO - Do not limit submissions to RMNP states.

Yep! We can't compete with the colors of New England. Let's compete with what we share in common.

Rene,
Just to be clear, I assume a photog from New England, for example, can submit an image taken in one of the 7 states (RMNP area). It's about where the shot was taken, not where the photog hails from, no?

Jim - thanks for asking this question.
Yes, this rule applies only to the subject of the image, not the photographer. All photographers, even those from outside the RMNP states may submit images for the contest.
It is also worth mentioning that anyone who submits must be a contributor to the RMNP forum. We will not allow anyone to enter the contest who has not previously participated on the RMNP forum.

I also suggest randomizing the display order on the voting page to give everyone an equal opportunity to be at the top of the page and first seen, instead of being ordered by date submitted.

I agree with Erik about the New England states, and just for that reason alone, I vote YES.
P.S. I also like Matt's suggestion.

I also agree with Matt's suggestion if it is not too much work for you guys who do all of the time consuming admin work with this. (Thanks BTW!!!!)
Actually, I don't agree with the randomizing. a) it is hard to do with the current code and b) EVERYONE has the same opportunity to submit from the first day. If you submit 1st then you will be on the page first. I am not in favor of 'randomizing' things.

Hey Amy - thanks for having the guts to be the lonely NO...but unfortunately it appears that the YES' have it!
Randomization - yes this is a bit tough to do. Another option is to NOT show any images until submission end-date and then show all images at once in the order submitted. This gives all images equal amount of exposure.
