While guiding a client this morning we experienced the best sunrise I've witnessed this year and some very dynamic conditions. While out exploring a 4 wheel drive road we noticed these rays of light breaking through the clouds. I slammed on the brakes, the ABS kicked in and we slid in the mud a few feet before coming to a stop. We both jumped out and managed a few frames before the light beams disappeared.
I don't do many black and white conversions but this one begged for it. Any thoughts?
Thanks for looking!

Yeah, that's fairly dramatic and that light beam is impressive. Great capture.

Stop teasing us Officer Edge, you say "best sunrise I've witnessed this year' yet you post a B&W shot, where's the goods?

Sweet shot Bret, but I agree with Jody, where's the color version.

This was long after sunrise! The sunrise light lasted about 10 minutes before clouds rolled in and shut down the action. I'll post up a sunrise photo in ESS later this week. I know, I'm an ass!

Wait! You're supposed to save those most-awesome-sunrises for the get together in October!
This is really cool and begs to be printed BIG!

Great shot Brett. Why didn't you order up these clouds when we met at Landscape Arch last week? Would have been much nicer images. Good to get a chance to talk to you btw. Clouds rolled in when we were travelling to Mexican Hat on Thursday and it was fan smackin tastic.

Talk about some gnarly conditions. Very cool shot!

Very dramatic Bret! Nice light beams and ominous clouds. If I had to find a nit I would say the clouds in the URC are too dark---my eye keeps going up to them. Great shot!

Awesome light. Sweet image.

This was a fine subject for a b&w interpretation, and you did a fine job converting it.
