Juvenile Swan
1D2n, 600mm f4 is, 1/2700s, f5, iso 200. Evening sun.

It's amazing how quickly the cygnets are growing. I like the colour of the plumage they're showing at present. Comments and critique appreciated as always.

I really like the composition here, Ian.

I keep looking for a location that affords the same PoV now I've seen your shots. Good stuff.

Cheers,
Chris

, Graham - if you've met Ian, you'll appreciate just how low he needs to go to get these wonderful shots :jump:.

Another nice one Ian... keep milking the pond for everything you can get from it :toast:.

Hello Ian.

I have always had a saying and when asked by other photographers for advice I always tell them the same thing.

Its not what you shoot but how well you do it.

And I think your work proves the point.

Beautifully captured just at the right moment.

I just love these pond images. Simple subjects but not simple images. The detail in the bird and the stillness of the water is beautiful. I wish I could get this low to photograph but unfortunately any ponds that I visit would require a rubber sheet to lie on   ... and then theres the job of trying to get up again

Hi Ian

I must say i am a big fan of the work you have produced lately. the recent series of shots on the swans have had a real serene and intimate quality to them. The low pov is excellent.

The low POV works superbly here. A little tight in the frame for my liking, but that is a matter of personal taste only. Excellent work.

Hi Ian

Missed this one - glad I revisited, another excellent shot - like the tight crop, catchlight in the eye is a real bonus on this shot - top stuff!!

Just out of interest, (and apologies if you have done this already) what is your poolside setup, would be nice to see

cheers

Colin
