You captured this bear??? You must have a big back yard! (Oh yeah, and that coat is impressive!)

Thanks, guys. She has two young cubs but they wouldn't pose with her! I saw her the next morning crossing the road right by Sprague Lake about 30 minutes before dawn. This was a good 3-4 miles from where I took this image the night before.

Nice shot, I've still yet to see a bear in RMNP after all these years...

There was a sow up there 2 years ago with two cubs, above Bear Lake (hence the name!?). She stalked a couple of us while we were filming the sunrise. Great photo.

Great capture. Bear photo's in RMNP are far and few between.

Great shot! I've only seen one bear in RMNP for all of my visits, and it wasn't terribly convenient to a camera lens.

Very cool image!. I've never seen a Bear in RMNP on any of my many pre-dawn outings, you were very lucky and she even posed for you :).

Wonderful light on that fur! Great capture.
I'd love to see one in RMNP - at a distance.

Wow! That pose and that coat are really something. Very memorable and rather intimidating image!

Wonderful shot! Really like the pose you caught with the bear in walking mode.

Nice shot!!! She looks like she's wearing a turtleneck vest. What length lens did you use?

Great shot!!! In almost 30 years of visiting RMNP, I have yet to see a bear there :frown:

Pretty sure I ran into this same bear today. Momma and her two cubs. I talked to the park ranger and they have been seeing these three at different locations on the road to Bear Lake. I spent about two hours watching them. If your driving down the road and see a big crowd pulled over it's probably them. I had a 200m with a 2x so I'm not sure how good my shots turned out. Needed a 400 or 500 prime to get some close ups. I will try to post some images tomorrow. First time in 10 years I've seen a bear in RMNP.
