I got an early start to Mt. Baker (got up at 2:40am) Friday and hiked up to this spot on the north side of the mountain. The huckle berries were phenominal. Counted 29 Mt. Goats from this spot.

I know this photo would have been better if I'd arrived a bit earlier by a few minutes, but I still like how this turned out.

C&C most welcome!

Canon XT, 10-22 @ 10mm, 1/30th @ F10, 100 ISO. Dual exposures blended for depth of field (different focus points).

A little earlier may have been better but the light isn't too harsh. The colors are nice and I like the inclusion of the trail. IMO, however, the evergreen is too prominent. I would have liked this better had you chosen a different FG element or backed up a bit and made the one you have a little smaller. There also appears to be some CW rotation. Can't wait to get back up to this area....looks like fall color isn't too far off.

Wow, that's an early start. How much of it did you have to do in the dark?

The early light looks good here, and I'll take the counterpoint to Mark and say that I kind of like the evergreen foreground. I do wish the trail didn't lead my eye out to the right. It's too bad it didn't head more toward the mountain, but it sounds like you didn't get there in time to wear down a new path  .
