Washington's North Cascades have been on "the list" of places to see for a long time and my wife and I were finally able to backpack there last week. The locals said they had a Colorado summer, but our weather was definitely Pac NW, with rain and some snow for the early part of our trek. It's remarkable that giant peaks can be almost within reach, but you can't see them. We hiked an out and back on Copper Ridge from Hannegan pass TH and ascended Hannegan Peak on the last morning. The mountainscapes are almost cartoonish, with glaciers, granite walls and spires everywhere.

Very nice stuff. I think a field trip for us is in order.

Wonderful stuff, Dave. Shuksan is one of my favorite mountains, and if I remember correctly there is a large painting of it in the Capitol in Washington D.C.

Thanks for looking - comments appreciated.
If pressed, I would choose 'Spotlight & Stom...' , with 'Low Clouds...' close behind.
Well done!
A place that I've not explored much. My list just keeps getting longer...
