Hardly any light at all today , but what there was, was beautifully diffuse. I like that sort of light because if you can get a sharp shot, the colours really sing. I don't think there can be a smarter bird on the face of the earth. Hope you like him too.
Wow, really nice image Eric. I was going to say that perhaps the reed leaf was a little distracting but then it does balance the perch. The BG is spot on and the size of the subject is just right in the frame for me. So I guess I can really find fault in the image whatsoever for me.
Excellent image, well done

Trying really hard to find something about this image that I dont like. I could say that it would have been better without the blade of reed but what the hell.......its a beautiful shot!

Just fantastic! The reed doesn't bother me at all.

Not much wrong with that Eric Just the right amount of room around the bird (for me at least) and sharp as a pin.
One of the best Kingfisher shots I've seen. Lovely.

That's a beaut Eric. The Greater Reed Mace makes a superb perch.

ditto all of the above Eric, what a beauty. Lovely detail and soft light. Top marks for your patience and technique.
I actually saw a pair of KFs today at a Leics site - the best view I've ever had of KFs. Unfortunately it's not a place conducive to photography (near a busy footpath etc).

For Tim; a ten spined stickleback in big trouble. Thank you for the kind comments on this post. I was going to put this one up originally, but if I am honest it is not quite as sharp at 100% as the others; however Tim wanted one with a fish, so here it is.
