I am the Walrus...
Firstly thanks for all the comments on my previous posting. :wavey:

I wanted to try to post something that was slightly different and to break away from the norm or expected. However, I am trying desperately to avoid posting Polar bears (which is very difficult ) especially as they seem to be in the 'limelight' at present. Even the BBC had a sniff at the whale carcass & bears, which should see them through the coming Winter. The bears, not the BBC.

This fellow was resting on shore after a very energetic bout in the sea. Not sure if a tighter crop might be better?

Visually striking image with great detail. Just feel top tusk needs a bit more room on the RHS. Not sure about a tighter crop as it's all about those teeth !

Very impressive shot Stephen. Did not know they have red in the skin.
But those teeth .... Wow

Nice shot Stephen, I keep turning my laptop round to look at it in the vertical format I think because of the tight crop?

I tighter crop might well work as well, but this one is top drawer as it is. Impressive shot IMO.

Nice capture Stevo but I'd certainly try a much tighter crop :wavey:

I think the crop works very nicely - but I am still looking forward to more bears!

Thanks boys & girls :wavey:

Personally I do feel that it is a bit tight, however that's life. Having spent about 40min watching a rather static bunch huddle, about five in various sizes cruised close to the shore. As curious of us as we were of them we were given a real feast of interaction, in fact putting the camera down and just watching was more of a thrill and probably cost me some shots, but I was happy to be part of the spectacle.

Leaving them to play in the shallows they slowly came ashore.

Finally, the request for Polar bears, well guys I think there is enough at present and would not wish to dilute existing postings, plus I am now off again, but promise to post a few on my return. :wavey:

An awesome beast NO mistaking, but will they soon be gone? :frown:
