Can anyone tell me where this shot was taken:

http://www.mangelsen.com/store/Limited_Editions_08___Landscapes___Flowers___Trees___Edge_of_Autumn___Elk_Mountains___6219

I saw the print at the Mangelsen gallery at DIA and it caught my attention. The print is much better in person that the version on the web.

Thanks

David, that's definitely shot straight south down the Castle Creek road outside of Aspen, not too far from Ashcroft. However, he has a nice high vantage point which I haven't quite figured out. Definitely higher that an image taken form the road. Hmmm.. you've got me intrigued! :)

edit: here's a snap shot from that spot: Castle Creek Valley, Star Peak, Taylor Peak

This is intresting. Brent, I believe that both were shot very near the same location. If you look at the way the peaks line up in relation to one another in both images they line up almost exactly the same. I think if you crop your image to match the other one you'll see they are very close. I hope you don't me cropping your image.

Looks like somewhere along the beginning of the road to Taylor Pass. The high vantage point is an optical illusion.

Not one of Tom's best pictures in my opinion...
