I haven't posted much lately so I thought I'd share a couple from last night at Colorado National Monument. It was interesting watching the cloud on the right grow from a small, puffy cloud into this much-larger cloud. By sunset, it was about 3 times the size seen here, but it had lost its interesting shape. And by night it was quite a large storm cloud.

Here's a shot panned to the right... I think I like the first shot a tad better, but the rock formations are probably more interesting in this shot.

These are OK and the cloud is interesting, but hardly indicative of your usual quality of work.
Just something 'snapshot' like about these. Sorry I couldn't be more positive.

Thanks, John. I was a bit torn on these images, as I like the clouds but the dark shadows and not-so-great light detract from it. It's nice to get the insta-feedback on the web!

i like the light and the cloud in it's position better in the first one, and I like the rock formations better in the second one. Not your best work, but interesting nonetheless. I'm wondering if emphasizing one of the stronger elements (either the great cloud, or the rock formations) more by moving the horizon more off of center would help the impact some. Too equal in strength possibly?

I like the comps and light in both images. I just wish you had double-processed and blended each, so the shadows are not as dark.

Great shot of my house!
Ok, maybe it's only a half a pixel, but hey.
Maybe a little drive to Grand View may have lined up the cloud and some rock formations more? Looks like you were at Ind. Mon. View.

Thanks for the feedback. Actually, I was at Grand View, Chuck... I wanted a shot from Grand View for a book I'm working on, so I was happy to come away with something.
