Fall is Here!
I plan to post this on ESS too, but there's two others in the queue, and I wanted to let you all know that if you're hankering for some aspens... you don't need to wait any longer! Steve and I went up to the Eastern Sierra for a quick backpack, and checked out the North Lake area fri eve/sat morn. The small and tortured looking aspens are well on their way, showing off some nice oranges and reds in isolated groves. The big ones still have a ways to go... but you can still have fun!

The alpine fall colors are in full swing, with golden grasses and red colors poking through here and there.

Cool stuff Floris and very nice colors! Glad you found time to break away. Wow now I'm really getting pysched!

"Fall is Here" or more appropriately, "The BIG TEASE!"

This is a great and wonderfully crafted aspen autumn image. The granite backdrop is perfect and I really like how the turning leaves frame the four corners and the crooked trunk anchors everything. Beautifully seen and captured.

Quite jealous and excited at the same time.

Will we see you on the 4th?

Lon

Thanks Lon! Unfortunately, come the 4th, I'll be the jealous one... I have to be in Monterrey that weekend for a conference, otherwise I would be there. I'll be going up the following weekend though (and maybe next weekend, we'll see)... have a super time and let me know how everything's doing!

I'm glad found a little bit of color up there Floris. The comp is fantastic and I like the single green leaf down there in the bottom. This does give a feeling that fall is almost gone but of course that is the complete opposite.

Really nice comp here. Love the granite backdrop. A teeny leaf in the upper right I might be tempted to clone, but far from a big deal whatsoever.

Floris, really like this composition and good news about the colors coming in. Thanks for sharing. Best Regards,

I love the way the orange leaves mix with the cool blue tones of the granite. Nice intimate composition.

Nice mix of color and use of that trunk to break up the scene. I also like it with just a sliver off the top for some reason, but this more than works as presented too. Can't wait to see what else you guys bagged from this trip. Good stuff!

Cool! I really need to get up there soon. Did you start your trip with Steve from North Lake or Pine Creek?

We spent the night fri eve at North Lake, but started out backpack from Pine Creek.
